OK, normal service resumed. I have been so busy I have not had time to update my blog in a couple of weeks. Sorry dear followers!
Please remember to share my blog with everyone you know as I want to spread my experience far and wide! This week I will be catching up on the last couple of 'Your Week' editions, but please bear with me as I catch up with things! As I write this, the UK has decided to vote for Brexit, which as you know means we are now out of the EU. I'm not going to bore everyone with my viewpoint on it, but I have to say I was very surprised as to the way it went. Anyway, back to weight loss, and something that we can change for the better. I will be back soon to update you on my progress in detail, but I have to say I was extra pleased to have lost 2lbs this week to go back into the 12st range. This has made what was a week full of struggle at the latter end, to an extremely positive shift in my motivation. See you soon! Let us go onwards and upwards (or downwards!) towards our goal!

Last week's 'Your Week' spoke about outdoor parties and summer barbecues. Now for some of us, including me, being invited to BBQs and social gatherings presents me with a bit of a problem, as I know how much I like my burgers and hot dogs from the charcoal. How do you stay on track when you go out? Let me know!
How do I stay calm while entertaining? Well, I tend not to entertain that much in our house, we prefer to go out. But if I do, I will search through Weight Watchers recipes or pick naturally low fat casseroles or meat and two veg. If I was going out, I will look at the menu of the restaurant or try to think what I can take with me to a friend's house to make it easier for me to stay on track. After all, it means too much to me to slip up during the week. If that doesn't work, I will enjoy the night out and then draw a line under it. What's my healthy go-to recipe for friends? Usually, my go-to food item is chicken. I may cook it in a tomato sauce or cook it as a casserole with a lot of vegetables. If I wanted to do a pie, then it's filo pastry all the way with yummy meat and veg in the sauce. I also do a mean quorn bolognese with a ton of mushrooms, peppers and chopped tomatoes. I am not a vegetarian, but I find quorn mince a life saver when it comes to saving SPs. How do I resist food temptation? Simple. I keep fighting. I remind myself how far I have come (I've lost 30lbs so far), and I may pick a food with a certain low SP value from the table to make me feel that I have been part of the proceedings. Sometimes I do allow myself the odd day off here and there, and that has helped me so far. Overwhelmed from hosting duties? I take people out instead. Nandos is a favourite as there is a load of reasonable SP value foods for about 13 SP if you are disciplined enough during the day. What do I do to stay on track? Forget about it, and it seems to come more naturally. I find if you are stressing about every little thing that you put in your mouth, then you are less likely to succeed. I have started to not stress about it, remember my goals, and go with the flow! Sorry for the lateness of last week's blog, and this week's 'Your Week' will be posted shortly. Happy Weight Watching! :) I'm aiming a little more towards women in this post, as I discuss the monthly curse which means that I am hungry ALL THE TIME! No matter how much I try to eat more good food, or follow the No Count plan, or eat 0 cal food to try and fill me up; nothing seems to get rid of the hunger that comes with it at this point in my cycle.
I'd love to hear what other women do when hunger strikes, and by hunger, I mean uncontrollable hunger that makes you want all the wrong things such as bread and chocolate. I've been told that potassium is what the body needs, and annoyingly, potassium is in chocolate and potatoes. So how do I get rid of the hunger while at the same time keep within my SP allowance? Let me know through the contact form! Don't worry though, I will be back soon to discuss this week's edition of 'Your Week'. |
